FAQ

Made With Hass Avocados

Hass avocados are higher in fat than other varieties, which gives them a richer taste and smoother, creamier texture. Avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, K, and B-6, as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium. They also provide lutein, beta-carotene, and omega-3 fatty acids. Avocados are full of heart-healthy, beneficial fats that help to keep you full and satiated.

HPP & Why

What is HPP?

HPP is a technical process that places freshly produced products in a cold-water bath and applies immense pressure.

What is the benefit?

HPP, high pressure processing, allows Good Foods to make products that maintain more of their nutritional benefits and bright, fresh flavors. HPP effectively eliminates spoilage organisms, enabling extended shelf life without added preservatives.

Why Good Foods chose to be at the forefront of this technology?

Kurt Penn, the founder and CEO of Good Foods, believes that HPP is the future of safe foods for consumers everywhere. Good Foods was started with these principles and this technology being paramount. Unlike many companies that may use third-party tolling operations for HPP, Good Foods uses this technology in-house. Doing HPP in-house allows for full control of the manufacturing process which benefits the products quality.

Are your packages recyclable?

Our cups are made of recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or rPET, which the industry recognizes as recycle code 1. For best results, rinse cups and remove the label before recycling.

Sustainability Practices?

Good Foods has many efforts in place and is committed towards continuous improvement. Examples of those efforts are : Reduction of carbon footprint by reducing waste, energy, water, and freight emissions, working with waste companies to reuse ingredient scraps, pits and skins, use of a vendor code of conduct for sourcing and increased use of recyclable plastic and packaging for shipping.

CAN YOUR PRODUCTS BE FROZEN?

Our products are best when served fresh. If you do choose to freeze, we recommend you consume them within 6 months.  They should be thawed in the refrigerator, rather than at room temperature, as the product itself is perishable.

WHAT ARE YOUR ALLERGEN PRACTICES?

Good Foods understands the safety requirements of allergens in the manufacture of our products. Our food safety team with full cooperation of our operations team demonstrates high levels of care and allergen monitoring in our plant environments. We follow all FDA regulations and identify, segregate, monitor and test equipment and food products to insure our consumers are safe.
